<\/p>\n\u201cThere\u2019s a lack of Indian restaurants in DFW where guests can sit down and take their time enjoying wine, beer, or cocktails along with dinner,\u201d says owner Pardeep Sharma. \u201cIt gives us a good opportunity to serve the same great food we are known for, but in a full-service setting.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sharma, a seasoned restaurateur, opened his first restaurant in Richardson in 1982 \u2013 Kebab N Kurry \u2013 and then went on to open India Palace in 1985, a staple in the Indian restaurant community in DFW. He has continued to be a key figure in the Dallas-Fort Worth Indian culinary scene. The Roti Grill concept began in 1992, with the first location opening in Plano. Today, Roti has a location in The Star in Frisco, Victory Plaza, and now this latest addition in the Knox-Henderson\/Uptown area.<\/p>\n
Guests can start with appetizers like crisp\u00a0Vegetable Samosas<\/strong>\u00a0filled with spiced potatoes and peas;\u00a0Chili Paneer\u00a0<\/strong>with onions and bell peppers; or\u00a0Dahi Papdi Chaat<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 fried chickpea flour cake, spicy chickpeas and chutney. Tandoori specialties include Chicken Tikka, ground lamb\u00a0Seekh Kebab<\/strong>, and\u00a0Shrimp Tandoori<\/strong>, each served with basmati rice, naan, and masala sauce. Classic entrees features\u00a0Chicken Vindaloo<\/strong>\u00a0in a tangy sauce, creamy\u00a0Lamb Korma<\/strong>, and vegetarian favorites like\u00a0Chana Masala\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Malai Kofta\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 vegetable and cheese dumplings in a creamy sauce. The aromatic\u00a0Chicken<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Shrimp Biryani\u00a0<\/strong>bring layers of spice, while traditional desserts like syrup-soaked\u00a0Gulab Jamun<\/strong>\u00a0and creamy Indian rice pudding,\u00a0Kheer<\/strong>\u00a0round out the meal.<\/p>\nDrink highlights on the menu include the\u00a0Indian Sunset<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Indian rum, amaretto, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice;\u00a0Mango Margarita<\/strong>\u2013 Hornitos tequila, mango pur\u00e9e, lime, simple;\u00a0Indian Cola\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Indian rum, Fever Tree cola; and the\u00a0Indian Whiskey\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Antiquity blue, signature, Royal Challenge, and Solan Black.<\/p>\nThe new Roti Grill location spans 3,300 square feet and can seat up to 80 guests, offering Northern Indian dishes with a modern twist made from high-quality ingredients and spices sourced from well-respected Indian suppliers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This location stands out with its vibrant and colorful design, crafted by the renowned designer Hatsumi Kuzuu, who has worked on notable projects such as Birdie\u2019s Eastside, Tei-An and FT33. Kuzuu paid homage to Indian culture by incorporating decorative details of Indian architecture and art into the space. The design also features large wood beams with vibrant colors and stenciled figures, making the dining atmosphere lively and immersive.<\/p>\n
Kuzuu says of the design, \u201cRoti has been in DFW for a long time and I wanted to do something very different for them, and pay homage to their beautiful culture.\u201d She continues, \u201cI really enjoyed researching decorative details of Indian architecture, art and history. One of my favorite things to do is learn about different cultures and art and implement it into the project, which makes my work unique every time. Being colorful was a very important part of this project.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
The restaurant is open seven days a week from 11 am to 10 pm and offers guests a contemporary, elevated Indian dining experience, unlike its other counter-service locations. Guests can enjoy a full-service meal paired with curated cocktails and wine, making it an ideal spot for everything from casual dinners to special occasions.<\/p>\n
