DALLAS \u2014 Despite concerns of dangerous roadways amid another winter storm, Cotton Bowl officials say the game \u201cwill kick off on Friday evening as scheduled.\u201d The Cotton Bowl released a statement late Tuesday evening on its social media accounts saying, \u201cNorth Texas highways are already being brined and plans are in place to assure a safe environment for everyone in and around AT&T Stadium on game day.\u201d<\/p>\n

A winter storm warning has been issued for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex from 6 a.m. Thursday morning until noon on Friday. Current forecasts show anywhere from 1 to 4 inches of snow and ice in the region starting early Thursday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Officials advise those traveling to the game by car to get to Arlington before the storm hits, or to travel up Friday afternoon if possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Experts tell those who have to drive during the storm to increase distance between other vehicles, accelerate slowly, and know your brakes. Drivers should keep gas tanks as full as possible, check tires before driving, and bring emergency supplies if you are forced to go out.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ticket prices have plummeted as the forecasts continue to show snow and ice, falling from $368 on Monday to just $121 (including fees) as of Wednesday morning, according to Ticketmaster.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Roads should be cleared Friday night into Saturday, but the Cotton Bowl will be played as scheduled, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. The winner will match up against either Penn State or Notre Dame, depending on the outcome of the Capital One Orange Bowl on Thursday Night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
