\nFounder Jihee Aoki opened Aoki Head Spa<\/a> to help individuals experiencing itchy, oily scalps find relief using natural ingredients with products made in-house.<\/p>\n

Located at 3751 S. Stonebridge Drive, Ste. 300, McKinney, the spa offers a range of treatments<\/a>, including deep scalp cleansing, scalp massage, neck and shoulders massage, and scalp analysis.<\/p>\n

Aoki said she tried countless shampoos\u2014organic, expensive and everything in between\u2014but nothing provided lasting relief for her itchy scalp. This experience inspired a deep dive into the ingredients and processes behind hair care products.<\/p>\n

Through her research, she discovered the scalp’s pores are significantly larger than those on other parts of the body, making them more susceptible to absorbing chemicals. She started looking for a more natural alternative and developed her own recipe for shampoo bars.<\/p>\n

Aoki\u2019s shampoo bars are made using organic herbs like echinacea, angelica root, spirulina, ginger and chrysanthemum. She travels to Korea every few months to hand-select the herbs she wants to use and brings them back to her spa to make the shampoo bars. The bars are crafted with just one chemical for foaming; the rest of the ingredients are so safe, they could be eaten, Aoki said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce I started using this product, I never had any more issues anymore,\u201d Aoki said. \u201cNo more itching. My teenage daughter used to have a very oily scalp, and hers is much better compared to before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aoki Head Spa\u2019s approach is meticulous and labor-intensive, setting it apart from other salons. Clients begin with a scalp analysis using a microscope to tailor the treatment to their specific needs.<\/p>\n

The shampooing process itself takes 20 to 30 minutes of thorough, traditional brushing. The spa also offers red-light therapy for hair regrowth and uses a custom water circulation system infused with 12 different organic herbs.<\/p>\n

In addition to scalp care, the spa offers massage therapy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hired that guy to come here to teach my employees how to give Japanese-style massages,\u201d Aoki said. \u201cOur massage is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond the technical aspects, Aoki Head Spa prides itself on fostering a sense of community and education. The founder offers DIY shampoo bar classes with recipes, encouraging clients to take control of their hair care routines.<\/p>\n

“This is not just business for me,” Aoki said. “I really want to be honest, genuine and make people healthy.”<\/p>\n
