What is the backstory of Sweet Tooth Dental Loft?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Cooper: We’re located at 8838 Coleman Blvd., in Frisco Square. I started the practice in January 2013 from the ground up. We have now been serving the community for over 10 years<\/a>. I have an associate dentist who helps us out once a week. We\u2019re a general dentistry practice that sees the entire family. Our goal is to take care of your comprehensive dental needs.<\/p>\n

Where did the name of the business come from?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Cooper: I think everyone who has a sweet tooth feels like they’re going to get a lecture from their dental team. I decided to lean into things we were already doing and take the stigma out of being at a place that should provide help not judgment. Our mission is to teach you different ways to satisfy your sweet tooth. It doesn\u2019t have to come from eating an entire tub of ice cream, drinking juices that contain less than 10% real fruit or having a candy bar that contains a caloric count equivalent to a full day of meals. We want to show you options for low-sugar snacks, healthy fruit juices and even some sugar-free candy. If you do indulge in the real thing, we\u2019ll educate you on how to care for your teeth afterwards. Sweet Tooth Dental Loft is dedicated to applicable choices and techniques that work for our patients\u2019 lifestyles.<\/p>\n

What made you decide to go into dentistry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Cooper: A family friend new to my hometown in Arkansas had a son studying for the Dental Admission Test one summer. He told me dentistry was a great way to utilize my love for science and that planted a seed of interest. When I returned to college the next semester, one of my science clubs hosted a fair for summer internships, and there was a dental program in Kansas City as an option. I applied and was accepted. While on campus for the summer learning about all aspects of dentistry and shadowing dental students I fell in love with the field. From there I found a dentist in Virginia Beach that allowed me to spend time in her practice in between classes my last two years of college. The foundation was solidified at that point and it\u2019s been a fantastic evolution ever since.<\/p>\n

What services<\/a> does the practice offer?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Cooper: We provide comprehensive care for general dentistry. We prefer that you come in through the hygiene department where you start with your full exam, annual X-rays and your gum assessment. Many of our patients have healthy mouths that we help them maintain. Others need services such as resin composite\/tooth color fillings, crowns, veneers, Invisalign and occlusal guards for grinding. We enjoy treating patients of all ages with varying levels of dental needs. The care for our patients is felt from the first phone call to the doctor\u2019s treatment. We all have the same vision of meeting our patients where they are and having fun in the process.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s been the most rewarding part of being a business owner?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Cooper: I enjoy the freedom of making a decision on how I’m going to take care of someone and not have to seek approval, whether it be the decision to replace a restoration at no charge, or to work a patient in at a time that doesn\u2019t fit into the model schedule we have in place. I am proud I\u2019ve been able to create a place where team members enjoy being able to use their expertise to help patients, while at the same time are able to make a living and provide for their families.<\/p>\n
