The Philadelphia Phillies have scheduled a meeting with free agent shortstop Bo Bichette, The Athletic reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

A two-time All-Star with the Toronto Blue Jays, Bichette batted .311 with 18 homers and 94 RBIs in 139 games last season for the American League pennant winners.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

His video conference call with the Phillies will take place “in the coming days,” per the report.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Bichette, 27, returned from a knee injury to play in the 2025 postseason and batted .348 in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. His three-run, third-inning homer off Shohei Ohtani gave Toronto a 3-1 lead in Game 7, which the Dodgers won 5-4 in 11 innings.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

<\/p>\n

A second-round pick by the Blue Jays in 2016, Bichette is a lifetime .294 hitter with 111 home runs and 437 RBIs in 748 games since making his debut in 2019.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

Defensively, Bichette has played exclusively at shortstop during the regular season. He started four games at second base in the World Series.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

With All-Star Trea Turner at shortstop, Philadelphia could ask Bichette to play third base and potentially move on from Alec Bohm.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

\n

It is expected to be a competitive market for Bichette, with the Dodgers, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs all showing interest.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
