Assembly Icehouse opened in Plano’s Assembly Park last November and has spent seven months becoming exactly the kind of neighborhood anchor that most new restaurants spend years trying to be. The family-friendly atmosphere, the comfort food, the Tejas Philly and double-fried wings and smashburgers, the 30-plus televisions and covered patio overlooking the central lawn — it connected quickly and the neighborhood showed up for it. Now Blender Brands is building on that with something pointed in a completely different direction.
A new 2,200-square-foot adults-only lounge is coming to Assembly Park, taking over the space currently occupied by Tacoro Tacos & Tequila. The concept is 21-and-over exclusively, built around premium spirits, a serious cocktail program, and the kind of unhurried socializing that gets harder to find the more televisions a room has. The design details announced so far include a pool table, a vinyl listening experience — an extensive record collection available for guests to browse and play — and private spirit lockers where members and regulars can store their own bottles onsite.
That last detail is the one worth paying attention to: a spirit locker program done right creates a membership dynamic that makes a room feel like it belongs to the people in it rather than to the restaurant.
“This lounge will offer an elevated adults-only experience where guests can relax, enjoy great music, share exceptional spirits and feel like they’re part of something special,” said JR Muñoz of Blender Brands. “It’s designed to be a destination for connection and conversation.”
The name, opening timeline, and full membership details haven’t been announced yet — more information is expected in the coming months. Assembly Icehouse is at Assembly Park in Plano. Full details at assemblyicehouseplano.com.
